From the Minister

Reverend Rick Hoyt
The Reverend Rick Hoyt-McDaniels

Welcome to First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles.

I love this church.  First Church is a thriving church with an important history, and a strong vision for our future.  You’ll love this church, too.

First Church has a special place in our larger Unitarian Universalist faith.  We are an urban church.  We provide a long list of neighborhood programs directly from our church building.  We are a bilingual congregation (Spanish/English) in both our programs and our lay leadership.  We are an economically diverse congregation, as well as diverse in race, nation of origin, sexual orientation and other ways.  And like all UU congregations we are diverse in our spiritual beliefs but united in our values of love, peace, and justice.  Our large building and central LA location lets us host denominational events, as well as rent space to other organizations with justice visions similar to our own.

I invite you to join us for worship.   You can check out the calendar of upcoming worship services under the “Spiritual Community” menu to the left.  And check out our complete calendar of events under the “Church Calendar” link to the left.

See you at church!
